Police have arrested 14 suspected criminals and recovered assorted household properties in Lusaka’s Kanyama Compound.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE says the gang leader identified as JUSTINE CHINYAMA, also known as DONDA, who has been on Police wanted list is among those that have been arrested.
Mr. MWALE in a statement to ZNBC NEWS said a manhunt for another gang leader only identified as TRANSPORTER has been launched.
The suspects who are aged between 16 and 21 were rounded-up in Kanyama Compound in the early hours of today and are detained in Police custody.
Some of the household property recovered include, 19 mobile cellular phones, three Television sets, two radio sets, Go-TV decoders, remote controls, speakers and four packets of fireworks.
He further said One Television set, one speaker and three mobile phones allegedly stolen during an aggravated robbery at one of the night clubs in Garden Park on April 29, have been identified by the owners.

The Zambia Police Service has embarked on an exercise to curb criminals who are using fake vehicle number plates to commit crimes in the country.
Police Deputy Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE says the police are working with the Road Transport and Safety Agency -RTSA- among other law enforcement agencies to curb such crimes.
In an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka, Mr. MWALE said the police will not be lenient on any individual involved in such criminal offences.
He has also urged car hiring firms to take precautions especially with the people they offer their services.
